Anaphes is a cosmopolitan genus of fairy wasps with a subsessile metasoma and subdivided scutellum (Girault 1929).
Characters (from Girault 1929): Antenna of female nine-segmented; antennal club solid. Scutellum preceded by large frustrum-shaped sclerite separating large triangular axillae and by a second, linear-transverse one; scutellum large, oval. Tarsi four-segmented. Metasoma subsessile, with no distinct petiole. Ovipositor free.
