The Archosauromorpha are the total group of all animals more closely related to the living archosaurs (crocodilians and birds) than to the lepidosaurs (lizards and related taxa). As well as the archosaurs, archosauromorphs included such animals as the beaked, herbivorous Rhynchosauridae. The Prolacertidae are lizard-like animals known from the Triassic of Africa and Australia. The Sharovipterygidae are small, gracile reptiles with long hind limbs known from the middle to late Triassic of Europe and central Asia. A patagium is preserved around the hind limbs of Sharovipteryx mirabilis, indicating that these animals were arboreal gliders. Helveticosaurus zollingeri is a marine reptile from the Middle Triassic of Europe that possessed a deep, muscular tail.
