Catopsilia, the migrants, is a genus of moderately large, robust, fast-flying pierid butterflies found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World (Braby 2000).
Characters (from Braby 2000): Antennae relatively short, less than half length of costa of fore wing; hind wing with humeral vein greatly reduced; male with small oval patch of sex-scales on upper side of hind wing between costa and vein Rs, overlaid by dense row of long hair-like sex-scales on under side of fore wing along dorsum near base.
