The Cylindrocorporidae are free-living nematodes with an elongate stoma (Poinar et al. 2002).
Characters (Poinar et al. 2002): Lips normally six, inconspicuous; corpus distinctly set off posteriorly; valve present in corpus; vulva equatorial (40–60%); oviparous; spicules straight or slightly curved; gubernaculum straight or hooked proximally; lateral alae absent; eight to ten pairs genital papillae.
