Belongs within: Helicoidei.
Contains: Helminthoglypta.
The Helminthoglyptinae are a New World assemblage of helicoid snails in which the apertural lip is usually expanded or reflected and lacks teeth, though there may be lamellae in the last whorl. The reproductive system has an epiphallus and flagellum, and may or may not include dart sacs and/or mucous glands (Burch & Pearce 1990).
