Hylurgops is a Holarctic genus of monogamous bark beetles breeding in phloem tissues of Pinaceae (Wood 1986).
Characters (from Wood 1986): Pronotum usually constricted anteriorly, usually about equal numbers of small and large punctures intermixed on disc; striae 10 obsolete behind level of posterior coxae, only striae 9 continuing caudad; third tarsal segments broad, bilobed.
