Martinia

Martinia glabra, from Boucot et al. (1965).

Belongs within: Spiriferida.

Martinia is a Lower Carboniferous genus of brachiopods lacking prominent ornamentation (Boucot et al. 1965).

Characters (Boucot et al. 1965): Fold and sulcus distinct, forming uniplicate anterior commissure; macro-ornament absent; micro-ornament consisting of concentric growth lamellae and surficial pits; pedicle valve interior lacking dental plates and median septum; brachial valve interior lacking crural plates.
