Periglypta

Periglypta is a genus of venerid bivalves that first appeared in the Oligocene. Species are quadrate and heavy with a rounded pallial sinus and cancellate sculpture (Cox et al. 1969). A prominent groove is present on the escutcheon (Darragh & Kendrick 2010).
