Psocidus

Belongs within: Psocinae.

Psocidus is a genus of barklice historically used as a ‘holding genus’ for species of Psocini that could not be attributed to the restricted genus Psocus, but since redefined to include a smaller assemblage of species found in Africa and southern Asia (New & Lienhard 2007).

Characters (from New & Lienhard 2007): Male with hypandrium bearing setose apical lobe; phallosome with long anterior lateral arms, lateral apophyses, and pair of long inner sclerites; paraprocts bearing two trichobothrial fields, corresponding to main field divided by sensilla-free zone.
