The Ptilonorhynchidae include the bowerbirds and catbirds of Australasia. Bowerbirds are known for the often ornate display stages constructed out of twigs by the males, which may be further decorated with colourful objects. The catbirds of the genus Ailuroedus do not construct stages and form monogamous pairs.
