The Satyrini are a diverse group of butterflies with larvae that feed mostly on grasses. Representatives include the heaths and ringlets of the Holarctic genus Coenonympha in which the antennal club is abrupt and the fore wings have vein 1A+2A and the cell greatly dilated towards the base. The Old World genus Ypthima has a narrow antennal club and only veins Sc and CuA are swollen towards the base in the fore wing (Braby 2000).
