The Sphaerozoidae are a group of colonial radiolarians known from the Triassic to the present (Afanasieva et al. 2005).
Characters (from Afanasieva et al. 2005): Colonial Collodaria with spiny skeleton, represented by simple or paired spines arranged tangentially around each individual of colony. Mineral skeleton may be absent.
