Tetrataxidae

The Tetrataxidae are a group of conical Foraminifera known from the lower Carboniferous to the Triassic. In the genus Tetrataxis, all of the numerous low, broad chambers are visible on the spiral side of the test, and only a few visible on the umbilical side (Loeblich & Tappan 1964).

Characters (Loeblich & Tappan 1964): Test free, trochospiral, few chambers in whorl, conical; wall granular calcareous, in two layers.
