Belongs within: Troglodytidae.
Troglodytes is a genus of small wrens, mostly found in cooler habitats. They are brown in colouration and relatively unpatterned. The majority of species are found in the Americas, the only exception being the Eurasian wren T. troglodytes whose inclusion in the genus has been subject to debate. Troglodytes troglodytes has a particularly short tail, together with dark or rufescent brown upperparts and barred flanks.
