Agaue is a genus of halacarid mites with the base of the rostrum covered by a lamella (Luxton 1990).
Characters (Luxton 1990): More than ten pairs of perigenital setae; rostrum lacking barbs but with a lamella covering its base dorsally; chelicerae toothed but lacking dorsal rasps; palps four-segmented, penultimate segment with a spiniform seta; palps lacking conspicuous lamellae; legs with lamellae; tibia I lacking spiniform setae, genu I shorter than either femur I or tibia I.
