Claviger is a western Palaearctic genus of eyeless pselaphine beetles (Raffray 1904).
Characters (Raffray 1904): Head provided with a neck, not engaged in prothorax. Eyes absent. Antennae of 6 articles, short and thick with articles 3, 4, 5, transverse, or more or less elongated, with articles 3, 4, 5, more or less long, last article always longer than preceding one. Elytra more or less short and triangular, shoulders absent or almost so, their external posterior angle strongly fasciculated. Abdomen composed of 3 dorsal segments visible above, with variable transverse impression at base and oval-elongated median impression, or at least two deep strioles indicating location of missing impression; lateral margin strongly fasciculated at base.
