Murexiella is a genus of murexes in which the shell bears multiple more or less flanged varices.
Characters (Wilson 1994): Small to medium-size, fusiform; outer lip usually without denticles on inner side; aperture subcircular, anal sulcus obsolete; anterior canal short, closed or narrowly open, upturned at end; body whorl scaly with four to eight varices, flanged or with spines connected basally by laminate webbing; operculum with wide, unthickened lateral areas.
