Niphatidae

Belongs within: Heteroscleromorpha.

The Niphatidae are a family of sponges in which the ectosomal skeleton is a three-dimensional, often somewhat irregular reticulation of pauci- or multi spicular fibres or tracts, and the choanosomal skeleton anisotropic but not neatly rectangularly meshed.
