The Stenoscismatidae are family of brachiopods known from the Middle Devonian to the Upper Permian (Ager et al. 1965).
Characters (Ager et al. 1965): Outline rhynchonelliform or uncinuliform, stolidium incipient, well developed, or degenerate, camarophorium and spondylium large, intercamarophorial plate present; early representatives small and weakly costate, late forms typically large, strongly or completely costate.
