Otitesellini

Belongs within: Pteromalidae.

The Otitesellini are a group of wasps that oviposit on figs, either by entering the ostiole or through the fig wall. The larvae feed on the ovarium tissue, which swells to a gall (Bouček 1988).

The Sycoryctinae are a group of fig-wasps in which the females have a long, extruded ovipositor (at least partially covered by the extended last gastral tergite[s] in some Sycoryctini) and an undivided scutellum (Bouček 1988).
