Planorbulinida

Examples of Carpenteria proteiformis, from Cushman (1921).

Belongs within: Rotaliida.
Contains: Acervulinidae, Planorbulinidae, Cibicididae.

The Planulinida are a group of foraminiferans with double (bilamellar) septa known from the Cretaceous to the present. Members include the Homotrematidae, attached forms with early test chambers irregularly trochospiral and later chambers variously modified (Loeblich & Tappan 1964).
