Plutellus is a genus of earthworms found in southern Asia, Australia and North America (Jackson 1931).
Characters (Jackson 1931): Eight setae per segment. Male pore paired. Spermathecal pores usually paired, two to five pairs, the last in furrow 8/9. One gizzard in region of segments 5 to 7. Always meganephridial. Spermiducal gland long and cylindrical with a simple unbranched canal.
