The Strongyloidoidea are a group of nematodes parasitic on animals. Steinernematidae and Strongyloididae share didelphy, zooparasitism/zoopathogenicity, and presence of a distinct Dauer stage in the life cycle, while Rhabdiasidae are included also in the group due to molecular analyses (Ley & Blaxter 2002).
