Actium

Belongs within: Euplectitae.

Actium is a North American genus of pselaphine beetles with a relatively narrow head (Newton et al. 2001).

Characters (Newton et al. 2001): Head across eyes distinctly narrower than pronotum, almost triangular, lacking sulci above and below eyes, antennal insertions widely separated, frontal rostrum broad and low; pronotum with median antebasal fovea lacking a bisecting carina, smoothly concave; lateral prosternal foveae present, densely setose; elytra with subhumeral foveae; promesocoxal fovea absent; median mesosternal fovea present; lateral metasternal foveae present; first through third visible tergites subequal in length.
