Asymoplectus is an African genus of pselaphine beetles with a quadrangular prothorax (Raffray 1903).
Characters (Raffray 1903): Palps with last article much larger than preceding. Prothorax square, with rounded or orbicular angles, with or without discoidal pit. Three basal pits on the elytra, but no dorsal stria. Prosternum not keeled. Mesocoxae contiguous, processes of meso- and metasternum reduced to very thin blades hidden by coxae. Metacoxae contiguous. Abdomen with first and second tergites subequal; third and fourth tergites larger than others; last tergites sloping; first sternite small, more or less keeled between metacoxae; second sternite equal to next.
