Exobasidiales

The Exobasidiales are a lineage of plant-parasitic fungi characterised by complex host-parasite interaction apparatus with the formation of interaction rings. Species are holobasidiate and dimorphic, and do not form teliospores in the parasitic phase or ballistoconidia in the saprobic phase (Begerow et al. 2002).
