Belongs within: Peridiniphycidae.
The Goniodomaceae are a group of dinoflagellates in which the tabulation ancestrally has two or three fundital plates (Fensome et al. 1993).
Characters (Fensome et al. 1993, as Goniodomineae): Tabulation according with, or derived from, a pattern of two or three fundital plates, always including posterior intercalary (X) and first antapical (Y) homologues, sometimes including posterior sulcal homologue (Z). First antapical homologue dorsalmost fundital, five-sided, not contacting distalmost postcingular plate(s). Typically five or fewer climactal plates. Plate growth only at overlapping plate margins.
