The Kossmaticeratidae are a Cretaceous (Upper Aptian or Lower Albian to Upper Maastrichtian) lineage of ammonites (Wright et al. 1996).
Characters (from Wright et al. 1996): Compressed to inflated, rather involute to evolute, with fine to coarse, radial or prorsiradiate ribs interrupted on venter or not; ribs typically truncated by still more oblique constrictions; tubercles present or not. Microconchs lappeted.
