Lichenostomus is a genus of honeyeaters found in Australia and New Guinea, primarily in sclerophyll (dry woodland) habitats. Members of this genus have lined faces, and elongated ear and upper neck plumes. The yellow-tufted honeyeater L. melanops of southeastern Australia is mostly olive-coloured with a bright yellow cap and throat, and glossy black mask.
