Pamborus

Snail-eating carabid Pamborus alternans, from the Queensland Museum.

Belongs within: Carabinae.

Pamborus is a genus of flightless ground beetles found in eastern Australia, characterised by a large, almost heart-shaped pronotum and short, strongly curved mandibles.
