Paspalinae

Belongs within: Panicoideae.

The Paspalinae are a clade of grasses bearing unbranched inflorescences or inflorescences with unbranched branches, the spikelets being borne unilaterally on the branches (Kellogg 2015). The majority of species belong to the genus Paspalum in which spikelets have the lower glume reduced or absent (Gardner 1952).
