Phasianella is an Indo-West Pacific genus of complexly patterned, conical shells (Wilson 1993).
Characters (Wilson 1993): Conical, elongate to subglobose; whorls convex, glossy, brightly coloured and complexly patterned; periostracum absent; non-umbilicate; aperture oblique, teardrop-shaped, angular above, rounded below; outer lip sharp-edged; inner lip narrow, formed by porcelaineous callus on parietal wall, meeting outer lip in continuous curve; operculum oval, pointed posteriorly, paucispiral, made of thick calcareous material on thin horny inner layer.
