The Plectida are a group of terrestrial and aquatic free-living nematodes with cephalic setae, a cylindrical stoma and unispiral amphids. Members of the superfamily Leptolaimoidea have somatic sensilla connected to prominent hypodermal glands, and the pharynx lacks pharyngeal tubes.
