The Ptychomphalidae are a family of gastropods with a deep labral slit known from the Upper Cambrian to the Lower Jurassic (Knight et al. 1960).
Characters (Knight et al. 1960, as Ptychomphalides): Labral slit deep, selenizone flat or concave, commonly bordered by extended cords or flanges.
