Suniana, grass darts, is a genus of skipper butterflies found in eastern Indonesia, New Guinea and northern and eastern Australia (Braby 2000).
Characters (from Braby 2000): Relatively small; antenna more than half length of costa of fore wing, club broad and swollen with apiculus very short and pointed; third segment of labial palp long, slender, erect; fore wing with postmedian band relatively straight, spots between M1 and M3, vein CuA2 arising approximately midway between base and end of cell; hind wing with termen evenly rounded; mid tibia lacking spines; male bearing patch of sex-scales; male genitalia with uncus deeply divided, each half being long, pointed and downwardly curved.
