The Trichotheliales are an order of lichenised fungi associated with trentepohlioid algae.

Characters (McCarthy 2001): Trentepohlioid photobiont; perithecioid ascomata; largely unbranched hamathecium of paraphyses; thin-wwalled unitunicate asci.
