Globotruncanidae

Globotruncana arca, from Robaszynski et al. (1983).

Belongs within: Globorotaliida.

The Globotruncanidae are an Upper Cretaceous family of planktonic foraminiferans (Loeblich & Tappan 1964).

Characters (Loeblich & Tappan 1964): Test trochospiral, chambers spherical to angular, commonly truncate or keeled; primary aperture umbilical, covered by spiral system of tegilla, with accessory intralaminal and infralaminal apertures.
