Belongs within: Globigerinana.
The Heterohelicidae are a group of planktonic foraminiferans known from the Late Cretaceous to the Oligocene. The test is planispiral or biserial in early stages and may develope chamber proliferation or serial reduction in later stages (Loeblich & Tappan 1964).
Characters (Loeblich & Tappan 1964, as Heterohelicinae): Early stage planispiral or biserial, lateral may show chamber proliferation or serial reduction; aperture simple and interiomarginal, or terminal in uniserial forms.
