Metopilio is a genus of long-legged harvestmen found in Central America, characterised by the presence of a paired longitudinal row of denticles running down the dorsum of the opisthosoma.
Characters (from Roewer 1923): Eyemound small, normal, as long as broad and high, with a median longitudinal furrow, dorsally smooth or granulate, positioned about its own length distant from anterior margin of carapace. Carapace in front of eyemound unarmed, armed, or raised in a mound. Tergites of opisthosoma each with a pair of distinctly prominent spines. Supracheliceral lamellae smooth. Chelicerae and pedipalps normal in both male and female; patella and tibia of pedipalp without apophysis. Legs long and thin. Secondary sexual dimorphism sometimes expressed in enlargement of leg I of male.
