Parastrophinidae

Belongs within: Pentamerida.

The Parastrophinidae are a family of pentameridan brachiopods known from the Middle Ordovician to the Lower Devonian (Amsden & Biernat 1965).

Characters (Amsden & Biernat 1965): Shell unequally biconvex; surface partially to strongly costate; with spondylium duplex; septalium sessile or elevated with subparallel and/or converging brachial plates and alate plates.
