The Schistosomatinae are a group of blood flukes with relatively simple seminal receptacles (Lockyer et al. 2003).
Synapomorphies (Lockyer et al. 2003): Seminal receptacle simple, sac-like; seminal vesicle relatively simple, genital pore located just posterior to ventral sucker; male caeca fused for at least half of body length.
