The Paraturbinoidea are a group of typically thick-shelled gastropods known from the Lower Devonian to the Upper Cretaceous (Knight et al. 1960).
Characters (Knight et al. 1960, as Palaeotrochacea): Turbiniform, trochiform, or moderately high-spired; commonly thick-shelled, especially in parts generated by parietal and columellar lips.
